Cam chain vibration dampner

New to the xs650 so hello, I took out the two screws that hold the cam chain vibration dampner in place out thinking I had a leak coming from there and I didn't so while I was figuring this out the shaft that the 2 little screws thread into dropped down in the motor. I walked it back up into place with a couple pics and screwed them back into place just fine but my question is is there something else on the back side of there that needs to be lined up also and should I take the head off or am I fine with just meeting up the 2 screws with the rod they fit in. Hope somebody can decipher what I just said sorry

Welcome to the forum, karatekid.

You're kinda okay. The front camchain guide needs to be aligned centered, so that the sides won't be chewed up by the chain. FYI, here's a sideview:
