Can I use a coil for tci

Yes, it is possible. You would need to use a ballast resistor (approximately 1.5 ohms rated at 20 watts) connected between the kill switch and the ignition coil. Also both sets of points need to be wired in parallel i.e. connect both sets of points to the other side of the ignition coil not wired to the resistor.

Only use one capacitor (of the dual capacitor unit).

The ignition coil will be getting only 8 or 9 volts instead of the full 13 to 14 volts, but will likely still produce a nice spark.
