What is it really? looks like mostly 77-79 to me....

I see the speedo in KPH and with the double disk maybe a Euro model but still don't think it's an 82??? Can't quite decide which carbs are on it.

He hasn't come off his asking price. It was the same last year.
I would believe the stated year of '82. The oil sight glass was a later model thing.

Yes, its looks to be a European model. Even though the last standard model was 1979 in North America, they had the standard models in Europe up into 1981 and 1982.

the year is not necessarily the year.
My own '84 model Heritage was still new-in-box when I first bought and registered it in '86.
(And come to think of it, the date on the frame tab sez Sept. 1983)
That said, nice bike. And he's proud of it too, at that price. And fussy about what a new owner would do to it.
A spiteful person could swear undying love for unmolested Standards and buy it.
Then swap the motor into as extreme an XS650 chopper rolling chassis as he could find. Then take it back to show the improvements.

I asked some questions and he replied; yes it's from Germany and an 81 build date as an 82 model.

Nice example.



I wouldn't be surprised if it's the only one in the US.....
