I painted the first carb with the paint left over from the engine, then prepared the second carb, only to find the can was empty. So I raced down the street, bought another can and sprayed the second can. Despite being the same paint, Duplicolour low gloss, the finish came out the same colour but a flatter finish. I didn't want to strip the first carb and re paint it, so said 'f it' and left it as it was. There is a slight difference but only when the carbs are put side to side. The caps were a softer material than the float Chambers so they polished up very quickly. They look 100 percent better than the original cast finish.

When you are at a bike show vying for first place, a big trophy, a retire now size victory check and adoration from young nymphets in the offing remember to park the bike so one side is in the shadows. Thank me later.
