Charging questions

Gibson:

It might be wise to use your ohmmeter to measure from the regulator black wire to the battery negative terminal. Make sure that reads close to 0 ohms (meter leads have some resistance).

Ok, checked with another meter with headlight on. It is 12.7 at idle and 14.3 at 3000 rpm. Does that seem more acceptable range? I have not yet changed the stock rectifier circuit yet. I will need to get to that next.

Great..........now you're seeing correct voltages. The 12.7 volts is typical, but if you were to change the rear tail light from a stock type bulb to an LED, you would likely see 13 volts at idle.

Thanks much Retired for all your help!! I need to have a reliable bike. Its my only scoot now while I wait for my new bike to come...
