By fast, I mean that you don’t have to wait for them to arrive in the mail.

Go to harbor freight, and buy their metric Zerk fitting kit for $6.99. You’ll get 10 straight M6-1 grease fittings. The left-overs will fit in the ends of your swingarm pivot bolt shaft, replacing those weird Japanese grease fittings.

Drilling the ball out of the fitting couldn’t be simpler. Use a 1/8” bit on the fitting end to free the ball. Then, use a 3/32” bit from the threaded end to get the spring out. Voila, you have a vacuum barb for your BS38 carburetor, for use with your vacuum gauges or manometer, to set the “air-mix” screws and the sync screw.

The hose barb is a bit short, but it works fine with my vacuum gauge hoses. You could solder a small tube on if you wanted to make the barb longer.
