Cluch Pushrod movement Newb?

Newb ? should you be able to move clutch push-rod in by hand with side cover off like you are engaging clutch, engine is out of bike (thinking of buying but wanted to make sure clutch is not frozen and i can switch gears fine without clutch engaged)

not unless you plan to stab a hole in your hand by trying to over power six clutch plate springs....

Not unless you are Superman. The clutch has nothing to do with shifting gears on the bench. Even if you could it wouldn't mean anything except that it moves. Clutch parts are cheap, and they are rarely real screwed up at that.
