I just got my 79 XS650 Special running since chopping it and putting on the pod filters. It ran ok, but after I shut it off I noticed that one of the carbs was pouring gas out of the pod filter. I'm assuming one of the floats seized up? I'm not sure exactly what carbs are on it, but I know the filters are 51mm's.
Also, I wasn't getting any spark at all. The previous owner installed a couple fuseable links when the clips for the fuse box broke instead of installing new clips. While checking for blown fuses I pulled one of the fuses out of the links and the bike started right up... If I put the fuse back in it won't get spark again. I have no problem running it without the fuse except for the fact that I have no headlight while it's out... I think the wire is blue if that helps at all? I'm lost. Thanks for any help guys.
