hi guys well yesterday i went out to my garage and started up my xs650 ,, it has cv38 carbys i think from a 1976 model in australia,,,, they are linked together ... they have mikes kits and oval filters ,,,,,,so the bike started up and it started to splutter slightly back fire ..... i put the chake back on and it ran o k ,, off with the choke and it choffed and spluttered its beena few years since i claened the carbys and probably replace the filters ,,, and its got a 14-0901 pamco which normally runs superb,,,, i am going too pull the carbys off,, and i,ve forgetton the nack of pulling out the left side without removing the boots if somebody has the time can you explain the nack of pulling the carbys off and slipping them out the left side ,,,i admit i,ve forgotten thanks guys regards oldbiker

Remove the cam chain tensioner cover and the butterfly plate off the top.
