Electrical Part ID

I am working on an 1978 XS Special at the moment and the PO has done some pretty strange things which includes some how blacking out the identification plates on this silver part.

I think its a relay or the flasher unit. Just need confirmation on its ID before i rip it out.

The unit i am talking about is the "silver" colored unit that sits between the coils (coils are removed in pic)

yup. three prong plug.

If you want to use the stock turn signals you'll need that. If you use aftermarket small lights or LED then you will need a different flasher anyway.

Awesome, thanks for the ID, but i am gonna run without any signals so just wanted to confirm before i leave it out. Thanks again!

Dakota,

Make sure that you notify your insurance company that you are eliminating a safety feature on your bike. I'm sure they will be happy to know.... If you don't tell them and get into a wreck, they will barbecue you..... If you do tell them, they may cancel your policy....
