Im a little confused on what goes here:
engine.jpg

The bike/engine are a '80 special with electronic ignition but it looks like it needs points on the head running off the cam? Can someone explain what I need? Thanks

you just need the housing to cover the hole. The space where the older engines had the points is just empty on the newer TCI bikes.

Nope. 80's and later have electronic ignition called TCI(NOT CDI) and the timing modual is on the Alternator. Black oblong thing about 1 O clock. The ignition electronic black box is under the battery box. Cam area is suposed to have empty housings. Do you have a manual?

Ok so that looks fine I just need to buy a cover like what is on the opposite side? I have a haynes but its for all years, it was confusing so I wanted to double check. Thanks for the feedback.

You also need the housing that goes under that first, with gaskets and o-rings.
