exhaust on left side glowing red after start up , sat for few months? too much fuel?

she has sat for a few months and i poured some fuel in and she started after awhile of kicking, getting dark out and i noticed the left side exhaust glowing red while idleing ? bs34 carbs , pamco and a two into 1 exhaust

Could be that the left side is pulling more than its share of the weight, and the right side is just going along for the ride...

Could be to lean. Pull the plugs and take a look and see what they look like. Did you exercise the slides in the carbs before you started to verify nothings gummed up or diaphragm's are torn?

Can you make a full throttle pass and then kill the ignition to take a look at the plugs?

My 2 into one had a sharp curve left side, got red once, now when running just to heat up, I use a big fan to cool the engine AND the exhaust.

will check slides tonight and try a compression test to see if my cylinders are good thanks for the help

Hi lowliferat,
thin single wall 2 into 1 pipes after dark? Lil' bit dull red at the head is normal.
Mind you, if it's just one pipe I'd look at the carb balance.

glowing red is a lean condition, make sure the carbs are squeaky clean, especially after sitting for months.
