Was reading some on 650 m/c's on the forums last night. Kinda sounds like my '72 master cylinder is kinda hard to come by in working order. Not sure WHY mine works, but it does... So, I was thinking that maybe there were other 650 years that used the round m/c similar to mine in appearance (cause I like the way it looks) and maybe I should get one as a rebuildable spare. So are they out there?

They used the round style M/C in 73, 74, 75. Before then they had drum front, after they used a rectangular M/C.
I'm not sure want other bikes had round M/C's but you might try searching Ebay for M/C's from early to mid 70's bikes. As far as rebuild kits, they might be harder to find.

Add 76C to that list as well........You might find any Yamaha that used the same caliper as the XS/TX650 73-76, will have the round master-cylinder.

Did a Boats.net parts search on the Master-cylinder assembly and come up with these Yamaha modes that used the same as the XS/TX650..........Have to use the boats.net parts no/models with a bit of caution, in this list the 73 TX650 is not in it but will have the same M/C assembly so should be. Does pay to cross reference if possable, but it is a good starting point
