I have a '72 that I am getting close to finishing up and have a question regarding the front wheel. I have read some of the other threads explaining torque values (mostly on the rear wheel) but on the front tire there are two nuts, one larger pressing against the square washer and then the castle nut. What is the correct torque for these? I would guess the larger nut would be the one to properly torque (maybe 60-80?) and the castle nut usually having a lower torque value.

I think on your 72 the larger nut is what holds the rotor to it's hub. The castle nut is what holds the axle in the forks.
In my 70-74 factory manual the large nut by the square washer gets 36-50 ft./lbs.
The axle nut gets 50-72 ft./lbs.
