Head retorque method

Soon I have to retorque the head bolts of my bike. Is this just a check or is there a special method to do it? :umm:

- 1-8.....10mm 3.8m-kg...27 ft-lb
- 11........6mm 1.0 m-kg....7 ft-lb
- others...8mm 2.2 m-kg..16 ft-lb
