Hi everybody, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It's spring in the beautiful pacific northwest so of course it's pissing down rain, a great time to get some building done!
Finally got the rest of my front end parts back form powder, my little job kept getting pushed aside for bigger more important jobs. I wouldn't mind if they would just tell me ahead of time, but it gets really annoying when they say your stuff will be done tomorrow and when tomorrow comes, you drive over there only to hear, sorry a bigger rush job came in. Needless to say, I'll be finding another powder coater.
Got the shocks back together and put them in the triple trees for a little mock up with the wheels
Got the seat frame welded up, I ended up lengthening it 4 inches and I like it a lot better. Tacked it to the frame and will be making some gussets for added support for the front to frame area. Also will be adding some plate in the inside front where the rear of the gas tank will mount to and some strips across for seat mounting
I wanted to clean up the area in the middle of the frame to try to achieve the wide open look, so I welded a temporary support in between the frame in case anything tried to move, and cut off the 2 lower horizontal supports

I got the seat support tacked in and the shock location mocked up. As you can see I'll be running a horizontal pushrod actuated mono shock. I still need to cut out and mount the bellcrank and support for the push rod on the swing arm. I have the design all laid out, just need to cut the pieces out of 1/4 inch plate and weld them up. The push rod is going to be adjustable for length with heim joints at both ends.
Design wise I was throwing around the idea of a forward seat support so I tacked one on to give me a visual and compare. I like how the forward one gives the seat that hanging, levitating look. I like how the rear one keeps the middle and rear of the frame open, and I like how you can see the whole shock. Please offer up opinions
