Hole in Wheel Bearing Tube Spacer???

I’m sure I’ve seen something about this on the forum but I can’t for the life of me find it again!

I think it was in regards to a small hole drilled through one side of the spacer to aid in removing bearings, you’d fashion a rod with a hooked end to locate in the hole and use this to drive the spacer against the race of bearing and thus pop it out of the hub?

Does this ring any bells with anybody???
