i have a ignition question? how you can help me out.

this might seem like a dumb question, but here it is. i fried my pamco the other day, from leaving my key on. When i took the pamco off i noticed the rod that it screws onto was turning? i pulled the rod out of the other side. should that happen? If that should not happen, what would cause that? how would i fix this?

There are a total of three locating pins that hold the advance unit, the advance disk and the PAMCO rotor in place, allowing only about 20 degrees of movement. You may have one of these pins missing.
