I know this is a long shot but can anyone ID this back rest?

I don't have the rack it mounts to and all I know is it came off a '75 XS650.

Thanks,

Some sort of after market job. Sorry i don't have more for u

Yeah, I have a Yamaha rack and back rest and this one is different.
That's why I said long-shot 'cause I know it could be any one of a dozen different vendors. However, if I can ID it I might be able to get rid of it. :)

It could fit a rack that fits the XS650 standards.
Or it could fit a honda or another brand, depending on how the racks mounting arms are fixed.
That back rest will interchange among the racks.
The rack it fits will have holes in the front cross bar that the tabs on the rest bolt to and tabs about half way back that the ends bolt to.

Hi cycleranger,
nah, the genius is willis, who "stumbled across" the '79 brochure and posted it in the classifieds.
However, your backrest and your buddy's on ebay are only half of the system.
The brochure photo shows that the backrest plugs into a luggage carrier and a person buying the backrest would need that part as well.

The "brand" of bike it was sold for could change with a sticker.
The backrest could have a honda, yamaha, suzuki or kawasaki sticker.
But it was made to fit a style of luggage rack. The luggage racks were made to fit various
makes and models.
The picture I posted is that style backrest mounted to the style of luggage rack it fits that fits the xs650.
