It came in a bag labeled "rear brake hardware" and im pretty sure it's a break switch or something? I don't get how it works with no wires though.

like angus sez, there ain't no picture but if the thing fits into the rear brake plate (or would fit if your brake plate is off an earlier model that has the hole in it)
it's the rear brake lining wear warning switch. Which, like my dear ol' mother-in-law used to say "Is neither use nor ornament."
