This isn't a custom but I've been inspired every since I first saw this picture of a Panther 600cc single Sloper. These bikes were first designed to pull sidecars and have gobs of torque at very low engine speeds. There is no front downtube as the engine is an integral part of the frame and even though it's a single notice the dual pipes all the way up to the head. If I could modernize any motorcycle ever made it would be the Panther.

I hope I can do the picture correctly. I always screw this part up.

Edit: I think I fixed it.

Here's a few that do it for me

Recycle Bill!

The famous sloper that fires once every lamppost!

Cool post

While it wouldn't be a Sloper the Panther was my inspiration behind my idea for the XS Big Bang thread http://www.xs650.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16177&highlight=xs+650+single I want something that turns really slow and pulls like a tractor.

My partners and I have bought a shop building that will allow all 3 of us to move into 1 building and still have 10 times the personal space we had before. The building was empty for a long time and there's a lot of work to be done (metal thieves removed all the wiring, etc.) but as soon as everything is secured my first build will be the big bang XS. Then between customer projects I'll look for a basket case Ironhead.

I'm not worried about security as the house next door to the shop came with it and the empty lot on the other side of the shop came with it too. Someone will be there 24/7 plus we already have a wireless alarm system in place.
