Can someone show me a close up of how the spring attaches to the top of the kickstand. My bike was hardtailed and my buddy took off the kickstand and I'm not sure I have all the parts to hook it back up correctly.
Stands up to '76 used a clevis type mount. '77-on mounted the stand on a post. I'm only familiar with the later type as I have a '78. Look on the MikesXS site under "Sidestand/Centerstand Parts" for pics of all the parts needed. Sequence is plate with the spring post 1st, it's flats fitting on flats machined on the frame peg, spring post on the upper side. Next is the flat fender washer and then the locking plate. One end of the locking plate goes over the spring post and the bolt goes through the other hole .....
The spring mounts with the solid end on the stand and loose or floating hook on the plate peg.
