Nice ride. What make are the rear shocks? Thx
Thanks! here is a link to them. I only have a few hundred miles on them but so far they feel great! And I love the way they look!
Took the ‘Bonnebobber’ for a run in the city lights.
That’s a great photo! The bike looks really nice too!
Great photo for sure. What enhancement did you do to get the Fuchsia color effect?
It was the ambient light. No major effects added, just some minor tweaks. The city installed color changing lights in that tunnel and they cycle through a whole bunch of colors. I just happened to dig the purpley colors
So how is your beautiful bobber running? Last I heard you were headed off to a show with it......how did it go?
I think I already told you this on Instagram, but fucking beautiful.
Yes you did, and I appreciate it x2
The show was awesome! Had a blast and got lots of great feedback on the build.
Bike is running great as well. Finally able to get some miles on it and see how the suspension is doing. It handles pretty well, actually. Very neutral, stable at speed, maybe a bit eager to tip in at slower speeds but nothing that surprises you.
However, I did run into swingarm/frame clearance issues and had to address that by removing some material, unfortunately. A couple other kinks that I'm sorting out, but, it's a learning process and my first time constructing my own suspension from scratch. Happy it's on the road though!
More shameless pictures
Took mine out for its first real test ride. Forest roads in Pisgah National Forest, NC.
Such a nice bike, looks right at home in that show!
Looks like a fun ripper, Augie!
That's a hell of a test ride from Kansas to NC. Without a seat!
You are the Man!
Thanks kawabunga! Your offroad-looking XS is a big inspiration and has been a motivator to get back to work on mine! You have some awesome bikes.
A long-distance ride like that, with a seat, would be a blast! Just moved to NC and the xs rode on a trailer, need to update profile location!
Here are a few pics of my recently acquired ‘76, XS650C
Looks like you bought a winner...a lot of nice touches done to it. If it runs as good as it looks, you will be a 'happy camper'.
Thx. Working through a few issues but am confident I’ll have it running well soon. Carburetion issues have nearly been resolved and / or a solution is on its way!
Man! There is so much nice work, everywhere you look. What a nice bike, what year is it?
Also, what is this?
