Hey all, had a build thread on the old 650 rider site, thought should throw a few pics up here. Bought it from a wreckers with no real plan. Living in Italy at the moment so its sitting undercover at the olds. Was a rust bucket when I got it but ran. Cant wait to get home back to Australia and finish it. Still no real plan, so far rebuilt top end, carbs, fully rewired, few addons and a dodgey spray can job. Just enjoying.....was enjoying just messing round with it. Nothing special, but its my Special.

Very nice urbandork...

What kind of gas tank is it?

Its a custom benelli 360 mojave tank. Its custom because the only thing used was the outer shell and the cap.

I made a whole new tunnel and floor pan in order to gain fuel capacity as well use stock mounting points. In order to do this I not only had to shape a new tunnel and weld it up but also fab up some mounting points for the rubber pads in the front and the one in the back. I also had to make the pet cock mounting points down at the bottom. I also wanted the floor pan to be flat and have the petcocks mount flush to that flat area.

In addition I also really really did not like the round depression which was used for the 360 badge so while I had access to the inside of the tank i took a shaping mallet/hammer and a sand bag and flattened it out on both sides. Bondo/filler was not an options because I had planned on running the tank with its bare metal showing.

Ive had this tank on my bike for a few years now and am a little bitter at the fact that Ive seen it on other bikes on Cafe Racer TV blaaahh lol. Plus all they did was use the original tank paint it and throw it on. I feel my tank has had much more work and heart. Maybe its time for a new project.
