No you do not need to pull your motor out to install a PMA. In fact, it is pretty easy and doesn't take very long.

Great thanks for the heads up I'd love upgrade, maybe I'll do that if I ever decide to rephase the motor. But maybe I'll leave it stock til I can free up a few benjamins.

I would like to replace the stock handlebars on my '78 XS. I'm looking for some handlebars that will give my bike more eye appeal. Does anyone have any suggests? My bike is completely stock...no mods that you would notice by looking at the bike.

............... hi i.ve got a 1976 frame in australia,,,, and it did have crappy bars about 5" high ,,,,i hated them,,, so i purchased an un known brand set of bars and they looked slightly better,,, at the moment i currently have DAYTONA bars from mikesxs,,,, they are comfortable and look good,,, but down the track i will be putting a set og mikesxs gs bars on,,, as they are about 1" lower and about 1 5/8" less pullback ,,,,,which should help me putting more weight over my front wheel,,,, but it will not be dramatic to look at hope this helps you regrds oldbiker
