Loss of pressure on the kick start!

I finally got my bike running about 2 weeks ago, been ridin all over the place! When i first got it running my kick starter had pressure from the very top. I noticed a few days ago that the kick starter no longer had pressure from the very top but now travels about halfway down until i feel any pressure when starting the bike...any idea's to what may be causing this? (before it would start first kick..now it's anywhere from 1st kick to 3rd kick)

sounds normal, you were just kicking on the up part of the piston's stroke the first few times.

It is normal when kicking to do a slow kick till compression starts to build then reratchet to the top before you kick through.

Try to readjust your clutch, sounds like its not completely engaging. Back out the adjustment screw on the case and try to kick it. should be better.

X2 on what gggGary says...push down easy to get to compression, then re-ratchet back up and stroke through firmly...manly like!
