Hey guys,
I just got done wiring a 1980 that i bought 6 or 7 years ago as a frame and a box of parts.
Let the bike idle in the garage for about 5 minutes and then hit the kill switch, noticed the main fuse holder (stock) had melted the plastic on one side, and the hot wire was well... very hot!
I left the key on for another ~5 minutes while I was piddling around, and the wire was still very hot, and the plastic had not solidified.
I am not sure what to even start looking for. Short to Ground? Bad Coils? Bad Reg/Rectifier?
