I've got a surplus ignition switch that has 4 working keys, 1 original and 3 copies.

In the first image, the surplus switch is on the right and is the shorter one. I removed it from a '76C. The taller switch on the left is the correct one for a '76C.

From the code and images, can anyone narrow down which year the switch belongs to? I'm assuming that its from a XS650, but that may not be correct....

It appears to be the same one off my 77'. My guess is 77-79, but don't quote me. Whoops read that all wrong. The one on the left is the same as my 77. Not sure of the one on the right...almost looks older.

I'm thinking older too. I'm wondering whether there is a faceplate ring missing on it (where it would say "Ignition", etc.).
