mikes xs front springs

hi was wondering is anybody can answer me why 3 sets of original springs i have taken out of front ends have all beein 400mm long & mike is selling 'replacment' springs that are 484 mm long...im fairly set on the fact that 3 differant year motorcycle springs have not all sagged nearly 100mm. help would be great cheers

The stock spring free length for the 35 mm forks is 482 mm long. I can't find a spec on the 34 mm forks but they do use a spacer on the spring the later models don't so it is probably shorter.
What years were the forks you tore down?

Hi leo, i have a set of a complete bike that's a '75..i believe both of the others are 74. All 34mm. I was wanting to buy new tubes & springs but its looking unlikely from mikes. I might post a pic of the disassembled sets i have just for interests sake.
