I have read about the removal of the 'Yamaha" from the right engine case by grinding and sanding. Has anyone milled it off? I'm thinking of taking one over to a friends shop and giving it a try. My concern is the contour of the case making the high area to thin.

You can't mill it as its curved. You can grind it off with discs/belts, but there's not a lot of material left. If you do a search you'll find threads and pics.

You ashamed it's a yamaha? :D

You can fill it in with JB WELD and then grind/sand it down for powdercoat/paint. I have been told You can grind the logo all the way out, then polish, but I have not done so.

JB Weld works great if you are painting or powdercoating. You can grind/sand it off and it will be just fine, there is plenty of material left, it's been done a gajillion times.
