Mock up.

I don’t see why the 75 decals won’t work on that tank. They are both standard tanks only difference I see is the filler.

I have been working on the speedo/tech comdo mount. I wanted to keep the factory rubber mounts and bucket. So, this is what I came up with.
The cup/bucket and bracket are off the 1980 special parts bike. It is mounted in the holes provided for the dummy lights. The rest of the bracket was cut and filed away leaving enough for strength. The new gauge weight is about 4 or 5oz so light it feels fake! The parts bike had been laid over pretty good so I had to work out some damage. But it turned out OK. I had to file most of the little flange off the lnside of the housing and the original threads off the gauge its self for a nice snug fit. I am going to have the bracket powder coated and paint the holder body color when I get there.

This little mess is starting to go together. I going to place an order from McMaster-Carr for the proper size stainless spacers between the clamp and headlight brackets, should look like it grew there. I had to file/ sand a little clearance around the light housing. First I had removed some of the tad at the bottom of the bucket to clear the fairing. "WRONG " luckily it was the banged up one of the parts bike. I am hopeful to have time this weekend to cut a clearance slot at the bottom of the fairing for the factory bracket/ adjustment tab.

Sending the front back for a 110. The 100/80/18 looks a little puny. Just had to have a look at the rear.

Wow! Kinda wish Bridgestone made a 105.
Yes, that is my front wheel hanging on the back.
The picture is of the clearance issues I am going to have to sort. Question, are there any kick start levers with smaller Knuckles that work on our motorcycle? I am going to have a new smaller collector mad for the header for clearance and to help chock down this oversized hole.

Found the headlight I had in mind for George. I was looking at 2007-2017 Jeep headlights. They are plastic lenses and the flange is kinda thick. This is from Napa. It fit nicely in the factory bucket, takes a 9003/ H2-H4 halogen bulb. The reflector is cast aluminum and the lens is clear glass. I am hoping to find a led replacement bulb shallow enough to fit into the rear of the bucket.

The idea was to use a fork brace with the replica xj700 fender. The parts are great. But, with the front lowered. I used Racetech straight rate springs, emulators and a HHB lowering kit. The brace looks giant. I am also using a 18" wheel. That didn't help. I had this planned from the beginning.
Back to the drawing board.

New plan. Found this fender/bracket on webike Japan. They are made for the SR500 with a 18" wheel. I feel the fender holds are reminiscent of the original 1975 fender. The whole thing is made of polished stainless steel.

If you polish the outer fork tube, the Fastec brace won’t jump out as it does. A Torozzi brace in flat black also won’t stand out.
