My 81' XS650 Chopper & Intro

Thanks guys. So the frame stretch is about 3" now. Took 4" out of the old hardtail.

I cut down my crazy apes and I'm going to run them on this bike.

Trying to get done in time for Born Free 5. I'm super slow so I'm racing against the clock. I also work 80 hours a week at two jobs. Quiting one middle of next month.

Got the front of my new fender mounted. Now I just need to build the sissy bar and mounts. Now I need to figure out how to build the sissy bar. LOL.

Found out my stock chain tensioner isn't going to work on these axle plates. So I'm trying to figure out what I can do.

New Tail looks GREAT! I had same problem with my taillight (axle mount) so I saved my pennies and bought the AHC Titmouse taillight... its SICK!!

Cut my seat down. Finishing it off today and getting the peg mounts welded on. I need to pull the motor out to do it. Uhg.... so much work... One week to finish before street vibrations... Don't think I'll make it.

That seat pan is bad ass Phail. Just a quick question about your rear tire? Did you mount it yourself or have a shop do it. I just mounted mine, had no problems but the bead won't seat correctly. What's the trick. I thought the air pressure in the tube would seat it but i was wrong. I tried 40 psi. Didn't want to push it.

I had to air mine up to 65 to get the bead to pop. You need to use lots of soapy water. That's the key to getting the tire on (and off) easy. I think I was also bouncing it around the garage to get it to go on. It was hard.

Got all the paint stripped off yesterday and I'm working on bondo and primer now.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting ahead of myself and I'm forgetting something. I just don't know what it is yet.

I have primer on the bike now. Will have color on tomorrow and I hope clear tomorrow night. Want to be riding it on Friday or Saturday.
