So I am in the process of starting my own business. Turning half of my fathers machine shop into a motorcycle service/chopper shop. I have already had a few paying customers. 72 Triumph Bonneville we restored a got running after 27 years of sitting, in the shop again for some new valves, guides and springs

Also got a scooter on the road again for a buddy of mine as well as 98 Triumph Sprint 900
that never ran for the owner. Threw some pods and re-jetted it and it runs better than new!

Anywho I now have my first custom build for a customer! 81 XS50. Mods include:

VI Brat kit
Peanut Tank
TC Forwards
Biltwell Slimline Seat
blacked out stock spoked wheels
Rebel shocks etc

Just excited that business is doing good enough for a second lift before we even started advertising or have business cards!

Columbia Customs is my shop's name. Located in Hampton, NH. Website will be here soon!

Good luck - my advice, never compromise on quality - you wont need to do much advertising. People will pay for quality work done by someone who is upfront & has nothing to hide.

Kudos on your decision and very best wishes! I love reading about the pursuit (and hopefully, realization) of dreams. All the best to you! Keep us posted! Look forward to seeing the website!

The owner purchased some forward controls but they are not going to work with the exhaust he has. So I am throwing in some free labor and the forwards are mine! Can't wait to put those on my bike with the lane splitters I have for it.

Anyways. VI kit and seat hinge should be tacked by Monday. Switching from doing this as a hobby at night to all day is a lot of fun. Too busy to make a website still! More pics coming as things progress.

Been working away on this bike. Bobber headlight is mounted, drag bars installed. New throttle installed. Rear fender and brackets are all done, just need to be welded to the frame. Rear section is all tacked up and ready for final welding. Still need to do the seat mount, wrap the exhaust, install shorty muffler, plate bracket and tail light, Tough building a bike while still doing the machine shop side of work and having no summer camp for the kids till Monday.

Teaser pic.

Customer loves the rat feel this bike has going on. He is going to run it raw, no painting on anything!

Couple more pics. Almost done!

Squeezed in a full brake job on an 06 Road King today. Should hopefully have this brat out by Wednesday and then I can start making the website.
