My girlfriend was right; this just got expensive

I’ll take the speedo for sure! You’re sure it works, right? I don’t need the tach and all my lights (turn signals, high beam, neutral, headlight) are in the cluster, so if I did swap both just for the sake of matching faces I would end up with something extra somewhere.

I spun it with a drill. I can guarantee it works, can't guarantee the accuracy. I spun 4 of 'em with same drill and they all read about 35mph. So it should be pretty close....

Send me a PM with your address if you want it. You're pretty close to me... shipping shouldn't be bad... 10-15 bucks as a guess.

Take up the offer of both Gauge and rev counter. For that price JD is giving them away and you can find a use for the extra gauge/tower light like a volt meter or such.........and theose 78/79 Special gauges look better than the later 55 mph ones..

I swaped a set of 76 gauges into my 80 SG and here are some sets for info.
77 had 2 sets of gauges........the rev counter has either 1 or 2 idiot lights and that was due to the rear brake drum had a pad warning light and it was removed during that 77 production run.

Gauges are period correct except for the first pic

It wasn't the bike i didn't want, i was worried the escort would never leave once they got over here.........squatters rights and all that..........

Hi Skull,
no worries about squatter's rights these days. My boy Eric overstayed his 2-year student work visa
(I think he was about 11 months over) when the local law gave him the hint that he'd be
welcomed back to visit any time provided that he left before they deported him.
Alas that his souvenir went back home after she'd lived through a Canadian prairie winter.

I like the 120 mph speedo. They seem to be more accurate and the needle doesn't bob around as much.
Leo
