Yes, these bikes are 30+ years old. Some may be broke. I have seen many that just need a little care and run and ride just fine. Chopping maybe cheaper than restoring. And as far as looking better that's just your opinion, not a fact.
I don't "hate" Choppers. I don't hate bobbers, trackers, cafes either.
I think a well executed chopper, bobber, tracker or cafe is a pleasure to look at.
Taking a good XS650 and cutting it up, slapping on a hardtail and a sportster tank, isn't necessarily a well executed build. Thats just my opinion.
I have seen a few that are quite well done and the owners should be proud.
Some should be hid and not see daylight ever again.
I have an 82 that will get lots of work done, no hardtail, but can be called a custom.
Sleek, fast and will handle well.
If some think it's ugly, they don't have to look at it.
