Hello-

I have a set of shocks coming and I need a measurement/size of the rear shock bushings (lower, on the swingarm) on my '79 650.

I don't have a set of them, so I can't measure them myself, and google is offering no help.

Any info would be appreciated, and thank you. Bike is really starting to come back together. -S

Measure the O.D. of the mounting bolt, I think it's an M10 (but it may be an 8). That will be the I.D. of the bushing you need. The O.D. will depend on what's in your new shocks. You'll probably need to wait until you get them to see.

what measurements did you end up with?

just got the 12" gas progressive shocks from 650 central (thanks Mike)
and the bushings don't fit over the post ( on the top of the shock), but fit in the eyelet!

what to do!?

Auger em out with a drill bit? Lots's of shocks come with several bushings, Using bushings from old shocks might work also.
If they aren't real warm a heat gun or hair dryer and silicone lube might convince them on.
