New Bestest Friend! My first xs650

Most of us feel the factory shop manual is best. There's a copy on-line here for free but the pic quality sucks .....

Watch eBay for a used copy. You can usually get one in the $20 to $30 range. Supplement it with a Haynes of Clymer, doesn't really matter which one. Also, here's a very good German manual. The translation is a bit funky but understandable .....

Well put in the order to mikexs. Ordered a lot of stuff. New filters and gaskets, carb rebuild kits, repair manual, a new front brake master,Pamco, headpipe gaskets.Went ahead and also ordered a Tc bros hardtail kit and Chopper Battery and Electronics box.

Took her out for a short ride today.Started on the first kick. She runs pretty smooth,no hesitation or bog. I'm impressed with the torque this 34 year old bike has got. Man, the forks are in need of some rebuilding. The seals are shot. I'm having trouble getting neutral, but other than that no biggies. Can't wait to get the Pamco and Manual tomorrow.

Got the Pamco in today.Works like a champ.Took me 45 minutes to install.Bike fired right up and set the timing. Now for the tear down and cutting up part.
