So I've had my '80 xs for a little over a year now, and am all too familiar with the little oddities and frustrations of owning a vintage bike. So heres my problem...

I've had it running a half a dozen times thus far this season, and out for at least one good ride, and it ran great! Then it sat for about two weeks and I went to start it up tonight and theres no spark. I suspect I need a new battery because it doesn't hold a charge much.

So i jumped it from a buddies bike and all my lights and other systems work fine, but no spark...I ran out of time tonight, but i'm just lookin for a little advice on where to start and anything I could check first to save some time.

Thanks!

See if the coils are getting power and its shutting off at ignition time. The TCI works or it don't.There is a fuse for it, see if the fuse has blown. Check the coil for continuity. both sides. The spark plug connectors screwed in all the way?
