I was changing my oil the other day in my bike when i noticed it had BOTH a dipstick and a eyeglass. So, my question is what one do i go off? I found somewhere on here that the bike takes 2.1 quarts. So, I put 2 quarts in it and it was way over on the dipstick but not visible on the eyeglass.

Hi Dan and welcome,
Clymer's sez a complete fill on a dry engine is 2.5 liters and the usual oil change takes 2.1 liters and a US quart is only ~950 ccs so you need to put in ~2-1/2 US quarts.
Just maybe your bike's dipstick ain't right?
Me, I'd put in enough oil that it at least showed in the sightglass.

On my 81 with it up on the center stand, as it should be to check the oil. With the proper amount of oil the dip stick reads 1/2 way between the two lines, as it should.
The site glass reads at the top line.
