Trying to clean up a 1974 XS650A & get it running right. When I pulled off the sump plate today this is what I found. Is this an odd looking filter? Looks nothing like my replacement from Mikes XS.
The oil was dirty, (a little sludge), but free of metal. It certainly hasn't been changed in a while. I have never seen a filter like that. Have a spare sump plate & filter to go on, and still have to fix the starter gear clip, replace some seals under left cover. It runs good though.
