Just watched those videos, and i only have three issues.
1 - if you have to use a hammer to get your advance rod through, your bushings are too tight. Note that he didn't do the "does it advance and the springs bring it back" test. I bet it didn't. I also noted that later he had to use the socket wrench to get the rod to align to the weights - you should not have to use more than finger pressure to turn that.
2 - you don't have to grease the whole rod - just the smooth parts near the end where it actually rides. Not so much an issue as it just won't do anything. Won't hurt either, but hey. Although the grease might heat up enough that if there's that much in there, it will dribble out.
3 - wow, he put a *lot* of torque on the 10mm nut at the end there. You don't have to put that much, if you have proper lock washers under the nuts - basically tighten enough so that the lock washer compresses, and you're done - something like 5footlbs.
