Pilot jets fall out

Putting the carbs back together. I get ready to install the pilot jets and they wont tighten up, i look in where they install and notice no threads. they also don't go down far enough for the plug to fit. these are the ones that came out of the carbs so i know they have to fit. Waht have i missed????

I think we need to see a pic. that thread is way down there and it's very fine (read easily damaged)

Maybe debris got caught in the threads? I don't know what else could have happened besides stripping the threads out.

If you are very brave I messed around and found a 5.0mm x.80 tap fit the thread. Go very gently if you do this, as the end of a standard tap will hit the bottom seat before it fully cleans the threads.
