My late Blue Heeler/??? mix, Rufus, liked to head butt me in the twig and berries. Payback for having him neutered? I sure loved that dog.

Murphy the Wonder Dog. Chaser of deer and squirrels, defender against bears and the UPS man and, my beer drinking companion.
I love how seriously a dog takes that very important activity of lying on a cushion in front of the fire - step carefully on the cushion, walk in circles three times widdershins, lie down, still not quite right, fidget slightly, still not quite right, get up again and do another three circles, turning the other way this time, lie down again, fidget slightly, and oh, that's it, that's it. Perfect. I'm not sleeping, me, I'm just resting my eyes . . .

We used to have Norsk Elghunds some years ago, what's your pup? That curled tail prompted the query.
Akita. This is him today. Well over 100 pounds.
This is his Dad and my Great-granddaughter Izzy. My daughter has both of them.
This is another she had. Sadly, we lost her too soon. You can really see the Elkhound heritage in her.
Daughter was getting the white pup (the Dad, above) and I went along to have a look. This one glued herself to my leg and made it abundantly clear that I was her human. I can't have a dog due to wife's allergies, so I convinced my daughter that I should buy her and she could live with my daughter.
I paid for food and veterinary costs and had "visitation" rights.
One time, I was going to drop off a check and daughter was at work. She worked in a supermarket at the time. The day I dropped by, she was working the customer service desk and - being the wiseass that I am - I handed over an envelope and said "Here's yer damn child support, you can call off the lawyers." The girl working with her knew enough about the situation to get it and held back a snort.
A 40-ish year old cougar-looking lady wasn't nearly as amused. Stared daggers at me as she was walking away. Daughter, co-worker and I completely lost our shit, it was several minutes before any of us could breathe right...
He’s getting old (13) and isn’t as active but still happy and loves his walks. He has a couple of “babies” he keeps around whatever area he picks to lay around in for the day.

This is Panda. Panda is a 4.5 year old, male, tricoloured parti pomeranian. We bought him on Sunday for $800 from a woman who said she didn’t have time to spend with him anymore due to a new job. Panda lived on a farm and was an outside dog, not house trained. Lovely temperament and disposition, if a little timid.
Panda has not been looked after: His hair is badly matted over his entire body, he had fleas, has not been vaccinated since 2020 and qhas not been wormed or taken to the Vet for a health check since 2020. The woman groomed him, but as his matting grew thicker underneath, she said she didn’t want to hurt him, so, the grooming was very light surface grooming only, allowing the matting to get thicker. It was like a felt coat he was wearing underneath his outer coat. He had a big mat of matted hair under each ear which she hadn’t even bothered to snip off.
We took him to the Vet this morning to be desexed and shaved, Vets are very money orientated these days, they even asked us if we wanted to pay for him being resuscitated if he stopped breathing under anaesthetic.
We picked him up this afternoon, he had to be shaved right down to his skin, so he now has no hair, except on his head. without all that hair he is tiny, probably a little over 3kgs.
All up he cost about another $500 today.

It's usually issues caused by the previous owner that need sorting with dogs. It's just the same with old bikes.

Panda in his underwear. Panda's nearly five but behaves like a six month old dog, full of beans. I don't think he's growing on the wife at all at this stage, but dogs are very malleable, changing to suit their environment. He adopted us very quickly, I suspect he'd not had a lot of socialising or human interaction, now he has he loves it. Can't stand being out of our sight, loves our laps, our bedl and just being with us.
