Project... "Track Star"

Do you have a list of the bolts you ordered handy? Would like to compare with my count before I order.

Finally got around to making some progress on this again. Tried lacing the wheels up tonight... hoping somebody can take a look at the pictures to confirm they are correct before I take them in to get trued and mounted with tires. The front went together pretty easy but I did have an issue with the rear. It seemed harder to get the spokes in through the holes and on the last set of spokes (second side of the outside spokes) I had to apply a little bit of pressure to them to get them to align with the holes. Now that they are all in, the outside spokes on both sides of the wheel have a slight arc in them and Im not sure this is normal. Let me know what you guys think...

Yea I'm pretty sure that they are correct, double checked before I put them in.

It won't really hurt anything, not the first time I've seen that.

One last thing to check would be the offsets-from-center of the rim's nipple-holes. Hard to tell in the pics, but some rims have a very slight difference in the offsets. Outer spokes go to the greater offset. If that's the case, everything has to be flip/swapped.

Edit: Nope, can't do that. The tire-valve holes are already straddled by a pair of inners, right?

Yea inners already straddle the valve stem hole. To me it looks like all the nipple holes are at the correct angles to which spokes they are connected to.

The only thing I can think of is maybe the slight thickness of the new powdercoat on the outside of the hubs is enough to cause slight interference with the outside spokes. And then that's what caused me to have to apply some lateral force to the outside spokes to get them to align properly.

... maybe the slight thickness of the new powdercoat on the outside of the hubs is enough to cause slight interference with the outside spokes...

I'm sure it does. There's also the curvature of the spoke bend, and the length of the short stem to the spoke head. I've seen some that were way too long, or had really sharp bends. Given a choice, I'd rather have your situation. Less likely to break...

Yea I noticed that as well, some bends were more than others. I'll probably drop them off at my local shop tonight to get them trued up and tires mounted. Thanks for all the input TwoMany.

What's the latest on this build Fox?

Well, haven't had time to work on it for the past few months. But back on it making progress now. Ordered a ton of parts, found a tank and mocked it up, built an electronics box under the seat, and starting building my exhaust. Will get some pics up as soon as I can of the progress.
