So I'm shopping for sprockets and chain for my '74, many of the listings are year specific, and many seem to differentiate between pre '75, and later(although Mikes does not). Are they different, or are the year listings bs? Thanks!
The sprockets fit any year but the chain length changed in '74 I think. Earlier models used 102 links, '74 and later used 104 links. I usually buy a brand name chain, not a 650 specific one, and they come in 10 link increments (100, 110, 120, etc.). I get at least a 110 and just cut it down to what I need.
OK, good deal- based on tooth count I've got the standard 17/34 tooth, 104 link chain, just wanted to verify the sprocket interchange, as noted above many listings for them do break down by year, not sure why if they are all the same.
