I passed mine along, but I chose a CB750 axle that has a diameter matching the XS650 wheel bearings and spacers. This means widening the slots and opening the adjusters. Moving the shock mounts is also probably a good idea.

There are no "step down" bearings available that I know of that bring it down from 20mm to 17mm. I used these reducer sleeve`s-spacer`s that let me use the Radian axle and adjusters. On my first tracker build I used a QC rear spool that accepted 17mm bearings so it was plug-n-play. Just had to make the right spacers. The shock mounts will need a little tweaking too. In and forward a little. My best advice is what Marty said. CB750 axle and enlarge the slots and adjusters. I`m doing that on my next build.

Does it bolt up to the chassis without mods? Just picked one up for an 82 Heritage project.

There are step down top hat sleeves that I got from Yambits uk. Recommend by a member on this site. It’s in my Welsh Tracker thread. I will link it tomorrow. Used on XS500 and others.
