Rectifier mounting

Hi all, took loads of pix on strip down. Phone now packed up so cannot see pix. Having problems remembering where the rectifier mounts. Any pix please. Thanks Pete
 
Covered in my bike thread.
Remove battery and battery rubber boot to get access to 10mm? bolt on the top.

While you have it out, you should do a rectifier test on it to verify none of the diodes are faulty.
you do this with a Digital Meter on Diode test. Its 0V in one direction and about .5-.7V in the other direction. There is a video on youtube to show how that is done. One of my diodes was phyically disconnected I guess from when rotor failed from overvoltage caused by the regulator being out of adjustment
 
Thanks folks, mine is a 71 xs1b it has a mounting bracket with 2 holes, I cannot remember where it goes!!!
 
Hi Melnic, it is defo the rectifier, it has the 2 hole plate mounted on it. There is no 10mm nut/bolt hole on the bottom of the battery box. Thanks, Pete
