Hey guys, I'm doing a engine rebuild and I just finished painting and oven curing the VHT paint, the paint job looked great....except for one minor detail....I hate the color:doh: can I paint over the cured VHT or do I have to strip it all off:banghead:

Hi Sazbo,
old Scottish saying:-
There's only two colors to paint a boat; one is black, t'other's the colors fools use.
What color did you paint the cases?
You got two choices, strip it off and start over or learn to live with it.

I used the VHT engine paint and I don't know if it will take another color. The one I used was their Ceramic based, (I am yet to cure it and have my reservations of it chipping) I would be leery about an coat over. I would strip it all and start over. Mainly because when over coating old paint they suggest a light sanding. I would be surprised if you could get to all the nooks and crannies of the engine.

I painted them supposedly vht aluminum, but it looks like extremely shinny silver, more like chrome. I guess I'm stripping them down. Dam!!:banghead:

Leave it alone. It looks great!
