It had a seat but obviously no longer.
I'll use this pan.
I have a deer hide for a cover.
Question is seat foam?
I have 3 seats I want to do, each with different pans, that's not the bother.
I can't find definite answers about foam.
Open cell, closed cell, layers, waterproof wrappings and adhesives.
Reading about layers, hard, medium and soft on top, ok get that.
My butt fell off about the same time as my hair, so I need cushy but don't want a big fat (tall) seat.
I will and do sit on a brick for hours, just don't want to.
No definitive material mentions, (trade secret?) I dunno.
Any help, manufactures, materials? I'd like to stay under 3" in height.
Thanks All!
I know, ugly duckling. I'll make her pretty again.
And yup that's radar reflective green LOL.

Hello JD,

I work in the upholstery retail & manufacturing business, dealing mostly with sofas and chairs.
Household upholstery is a totally different set of objectives compared with motorbike seats. Household upholstery as a wide set of parameters: we have the luxury of seat depth and sub frame support to allow any number of spring / elasticated band / webbing supports, on which we can then use differing foams and thicknesses to get a comfortable 'sit'.

Bike seats do not have the luxury of 'depth' therefore demanding the use of higher density foams only. These allow some butt protection from the seat base and frame rails; whilst offering longevity in use. (softer foams will wear out too quickly). If possible use a thicker high density foam on the seat base pan; and a thinner 'comfort layer' of medium density foam on top to offer some bum relief.

This site may help your selection: https://www.gbfoam.co.uk/foam-type-foam-grades/

You may well have a similar site in your part of the world.

You can probably have Sargent make a nice comfy seat for you
Thank you. It's a project I want to do myself.
Really just trying to find the best combo of foam to use.
I've recovered this seat before and it came out good, but I had
the original foam. Time and weather, it's garbage now.
