How's everyone doin'? This is my first post, seeing as how I don't own a 650. Yet. I found this craigslist post (which I usually never trust) and wanted some advice from some more knowledgable people.

"1972 Yamaha 650 only 8k miles; good bike has water in carburater nothing a little sea foam can't fix, seat needs repair sale as is; asking $650/obo"

http://pensacola.craigslist.org/mcd/3359156701.html

No photos were posted but he's going to send me some. He said some water got into the tank and he tried to start it. Now there's water in the carburetor and doesn't know how to get it going again. Any advice?

I don't have too much mechanical know-how, so if I pick this up I'll be hitting this sight a lot more. I wanna turn it into a stripped down bobber or bar hopper.

Take the spark plugs out disconet the tank run dry gas throw it and turn the motor over a fue times put the plugs back in hit it with a shot of starting fluid and drain the tank out put new gas in it

Turns out it isn't a '72 xs650, but an '82 xj650. BIG difference. Doesn't run and four carbs are way more expensive than just two. If he gets it running I might get it but it doesn't look good. Thanks everyone for your help.
